Brightness

 

Brightness adds a menu bar item for adjusting your display’s brightness. And, and if your PowerBook, MacBook or MacBook Pro has a backlit keyboard, Brightness adds a second menu bar item for adjusting it.

Most of the time, the special function keys for sound and brightness are nice. But sometimes you need your normal function keys back for apps like Photoshop, and you hate chording the \\\"fn\\\" key to get them. In the system prefs, you can turn on the keyboard preference for \\\"Use all F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys,\\\" but then you lose the ability to adjust screen brightness because Apple doesn\\\'t provide a menu extra to do it like they do for volume. Instead, you have to open the System Preferences and use the slider in the Displays pane for screen brightness. Brightness is the solution.

 

In order to use Brightness you have to meet the following system requirements:

 

* Operative System: Mac OS X v10.4 (Tiger) / Mac OS X v10.5 (Leopard) / Mac OS 10.6 (Snow Leopard)

 

Minimum System Requirements:

 

* Processor Power PC G4 / Memory RAM 512
